Do your drains need repairing?

Our Irish drainage systems are an interesting mix of old and new, with brand new PVC pipework often mixed with old clay, porcelain, cast iron or concrete pipes from over 100 years ago. Whether your building is old or new, drains can get damaged, corrode or deteriorate over time. Thankfully, today drain repairs are possible, easy,  and relatively cheap.

Pipe Relining

When your drains start to give trouble a repair of some sort might be necessary but thankfully a lot of issues can be fixed these days without even having to dig – saving on time, disruption and cost. Whether the problem is an old pipe that’s cracked, has holes, gaps, root intrusion, is rusted up or leaks in or out of the pipe it might be possible to fix the problem without ever having to dig up your drive or roses! Pipe relining effectively ‘installs’ a new pipe within the old one. Replacing pipework is a messy, expensive and time-intensive ordeal that can turn a home into a construction site. Pipe relining repairs the pipes for at least another 20 years and requires very minimal disruption and at a fraction of the cost of a replacement. We can renovate an entire length of pipe by relining or deal with isolated defects by patching (part liner). Once we have done a CCTV survey to check the extent of the problem we will give you a proposal to suit your requirements and budget.

Robotic Cutting

If there is something stuck in your drain that shouldn’t be there like roots, an earth rod, a poor connection a fractured piece or rocks, concrete or mortar, we can often get these out without digging by using our robotic cutting equipment. Once the problem has been removed, we can then sort out any holes, gaps or open joints by patching or relining.

Excavation

Sometimes a drain problem is really bad and the only way to solve the issue is to dig it up and replace it. This might be if a pipe has collapsed or if there is a sag, belly or backfall. Thankfully our team of drain repair crews are very experienced in this work and can get you up and running. We can also replace manholes, access covers, gullies and install new drainage systems.

What are the signs that your drains need repairing?

When you first experience a drain backing up, don’t panic and first treat it as a regular blockage. If you have done all you can to troubleshoot the blockage in your drain give us a call for some help(check out our unblock the toilet section). If the our team feel there is a problem, or if you are seeing us too regularly, it could be worth checking the drains with a CCTV camera. If you see the ground surface sinking or cracks in a wall close to a drain, this might be an indication that the drain is leaking and it should be checked out.

Call in the Cavalry

In some cases, a persistent drainage issue is just a stubborn blockage that needs professional equipment to solve. We can stop by, unblock the drain and perform a CCTV survey to identify the problem and give our recommendations. If there’s a simple solution, we’ll always recommend it. We’ll look for any faults and weaknesses in the drains and assess whether the drains need repairing. If the problem can be sorted without digging we will let you know.
